I can honestly say, I did not want to leave!! I will definitely go back at some point as I have had the best time of my life. I have met so many life long friends who I still meet up with even though I am back home. Every night at camp we would get to do something different, my personal favourite was karaoke. There was about 50 of us in camp and that meant there was always someone around and someone to talk to. I just loved the simplicity of sitting down and eating my meals with everyone all at one table.

For anyone looking to help animals, meet new people and have an adventure then I would highly recommend Namibia.

I volunteered with The Mighty Roar for 9 weeks in 3 different programmes. I spent 7 weeks in South Africa and 2 in Zimbabwe. The pre departure support was amazing and I couldn’t have asked for anymore. My trip was a once in a lifetime experience which I will never ever forget and I couldn’t recommend it enough booking through TMR.

I signed up solo to spend six weeks volunteering in the schools in Ghana  whilst on a gap year. There wasn’t a dull moment, I can definitely see myself returning, and I would urge anyone thinking about volunteering with TMR Ghana to go for it - you will not regret it!

I honestly couldn’t recommend The Mighty Roar more. The whole programme was organised seamlessly from start to finish and I enjoyed every minute of my time there. I’ve already recommended them to everyone I’ve met on my travels and I hope to be back there myself very soon too. Get yourself signed up now, you’ll not regret it.

After lots of researching, I signed up for the medical programme in Tanzania, where I had the opportunity to work in two different hospitals and multiple different departments/wards and communities. As a student paediatric nurse the experience hugely enhanced my knowledge and understanding of healthcare in other cultures and it was the most incredible, eye-opening 4 weeks which I will remember forever. Thank you The Mighty Roar, for making my experience so beautiful in every way!

I volunteered in Sri Lanka for 3 weeks where I had the opportunity to work on the Sea turtle project. I would recommend this programme to anyone and everyone. I felt safe my entire trip, the food and accommodation were great, and it was a lovely group of people.

I cannot express how amazing my experience was in Tanzania and I will cherish everything I learnt and people I met for a life time. I met the most amazing people while out there and had the most incredible time i’ll be returning in January to revisit the most beautiful community.

My favourite memories were of course being hands on with the turtles, but it was truly the people that made the trip incredible. They were kind and helpful every step of the way, encouraging us to work hard and help one another. The other volunteers, in particular my roommates with whom I have formed lasting bonds, also made my trip better than I could have ever imagined.

To anyone contemplating booking a trip with the Mighty Roar; DO IT! I could not fault a single part of the experience. There was not a single moment where I felt unsafe or uneasy, I have made friends for life (we are all still in contact 4 months later), and I will never forget my time at the Remiti Childcare Centre.

I volunteered on the childcare program in Sri Lanka for two weeks in August. This was my first time travelling solo, and I could not recommend the Mighty Roar more as a chance to make friends and adjust to travelling in a supportive but independent environment.

In August I volunteered on the South Africa Amakhala Big 5 Conservation. I chose this programme out of the many volunteer programmes TMR have to offer because it offers the chance to work in both animal conservation and in the local community. I had the best experience on the Amakhala game reserve and would love to return in the future. TMR made the process leading up to the trip so smooth and I would recommend them to anyone looking for an experience similar to mine.  

My names Erika and I travelled to South Africa to volunteer in Cape Town for 3 weeks. The team were absolutely fantastic and I cannot wait for the opportunity to go again and cannot thank The Mighty Roar enough!

This is my second year in a row going back to The Might Roar project in Tianyar, Bali, which is a clear indication of how much I have loved it! Overall, the experience I’ve had has been second to none, the school and camp will always hold a very special place in my heart.

The support from TMR before I left was amazing - whenever I had a question, they got back to me super fast, which really helped calm any nerves and made the whole process smooth. It was a trip full of unforgettable moments and something I would recommend to everyone.
