Hear about my time volunteering for 2 weeks in Bangkok, Thailand!
I signed up for the Thailand childcare programme where I spent 2 weeks teaching. I signed up for this because I have always wanted to make a difference through teaching English to young children. The TMR pre-departure support was very professional & the team were always on hand for any & all questions we had.
When I arrived in country, I had a few days of exploring before my programme started but then the in country team were available to pick me up from my accommodation and the communication was great!

On my programme I spent a couple of hours each day teaching English, varying from the ABCs, numbers, animals, colours & animals. I spent my time in between 2 different schools where I was able to build relationships with the children and teachers. I had the best time and the children were a pleasure to teach.
During my free time, I went to the Train Market, the Floating markets & I explored many of the stunning temples around. I made friends with other people on my programme so we spent a lot of our free time together. There were lots of other volunteers. The accommodation was quite central to the city so easy to get around and close to the shops & restaurants.
My favourite memories were mostly in the classroom where I bonded with the children, who were all so enthusiastic to learn. I would recommend this experience to anyone!
