My experience as a childcare volunteer in Tanzania

I signed up to do the childcare programme in Tanzania and during my 4 weeks I created a bunch of memories that most definitely will last a lifetime! My action packed adventure saw me volunteering on a daily basis with the Maasai, going on safari, flying to Zanzibar and so much more! If you are looking to volunteer then I would strongly recommend The Mighty Roar Tanzania!

Ethical sea turtle conservation in Sri Lanka

I spent two incredible weeks volunteering with turtles in Sri Lanka through Mighty Roar, and it was an unforgettable experience I would recommend to everyone. TMR is exceptionally more ethical in their environmental conservation efforts than some other volunteer programmes - this was especially evident on the turtle conservation project which was great to see! Ultimately, TMR is great fun and If you’re thinking about going to Sri Lanka with TMR - you won’t regret it.

Six weeks volunteering in Namibia

I spent six weeks at the Namibia Wildlife Sanctuary & Reserve. The Mighty Roar provided me with valuable information and resources to help me understand what to expect, allowing me to fully embrace the experience. The people I met and the memories we shared will stay with me forever, and I am thankful to The Mighty Roar for making that possible. I would definitely recommend the project; I had the time of my life!

Childcare volunteering in Ghana

Volunteering on the childcare project in Busua, Ghana for two weeks was the best experience of my life! TMR guided me through all the things I had to do pre-departure like visas, packing lists and all of the other important information and the local team made me feel at home as soon as I landed at Accra Airport. Getting involved really helped me to meet some amazing new people with similar values to me and has given me an experience I will never forget.

Helping as a teaching volunteer in Bali

I signed up for The Mighty Roar Teaching Programme in Bali. With my sports coaching role back in the UK along with an urge to travel and see the world made me choose this programme to get the best of both worlds. This experience for me was one where I could really immerse myself in their culture and gain a wider appreciation for the world whilst also having fun and making friends and memories for life! I'd recommend teaching English in Bali with The Mighty Roar to anyone!

Amy's story

A busy 2 weeks volunteering at Amakhala!

I decided that for my first ever solo trip I was going to do something that I wouldn’t normally get the chance to do. That’s why I chose to spend two weeks doing conservation work at Amakhala Safari in South Africa. From the moment I googled volunteering abroad and looking through all of the programmes that The Mighty Roar had to offer to stepping foot off the plane and being picked up by the local team, I couldn’t fault the Mighty Roar at all. I had the absolute time of my life and I would highly recommend The Mighty Roar!

Charlotte 's story

Volunteering with children in Thailand

I signed up for the Thailand childcare programme where I spent 2 weeks teaching and helping on the childcare project. The TMR pre-departure support was very professional & the team were always on hand for any & all questions we had. The project had the perfect mix of volunteering and free time, where we would explore everything Bangkok had to offer as a group. My favourite memories were mostly in the classroom where I bonded with the children, who were all so enthusiastic to learn. I would recommend this experience to anyone.

Sophie's story

Volunteering in Tanzania at 17 years old

I signed up to volunteer with the Mighty Roar on the childcare programme, in Tanzania and to anyone contemplating booking a trip with the Mighty Roar; DO IT! Being only 17 years old, my parents were obviously very worried about the prospect of me going alone for 2 weeks to a country I have never been to before. But, the pre departure support from TMR, especially the video call, was invaluable in settling their nerves (and mine).

Arabella's story

3 weeks volunteering with sea turtles in Sri Lanka

I volunteered in Sri Lanka for 3 weeks where I had the opportunity to work on the sea turtle project. Before I arrived in Sri Lanka the team were helpful in answering any questions, providing loads of info and getting all volunteers in contact with each other. My favourite moments were watching the turtles being released and spending time all together in the evenings. I would recommend this programme to everyone. I felt safe my entire trip, the food and accommodation were great and it was a lovely group of people.
