Everyone was so grateful for our time and help

I volunteered in Ghana with my colleague in Dixcove Hospital and Busua Clinic. At the hospital, we were given hands on experience by doing ward rounds and working in the Outpatient Department. Whilst at Busua Clinic, we managed the Clinic ourselves and set it up how we wanted, which was great.

We were able to teach the Clinic staff some new skills and they helped open our eyes to how healthcare is so much different to what we are used to in the UK. We encountered illnesses we wouldn't see in the UK and so our knowledge was also expanded.

"It was a truly rewarding experience. Busua will forever hold a place in my heart."

Chris from The Mighty Roar was great in answering any questions we had and was always there for support, which we are grateful for. He also ensured everything was set up for us in Ghana and we were prepared before we left.

We also worked with Ebenezer who was there every day for support in Ghana. He's very approachable and supportive. He was very flexible with us and took us to Cape Coast for a weekend away as a treat for our work at the hospital.

Everyone in Busua is so welcoming and friendly. They are so grateful for the help we provided in the community and we made some great friends while over there.

We don't feel like two weeks was enough time, so we are looking at heading back. It was a truly rewarding experience. Busua will forever hold a place in my heart.
