A varied and enjoyable time

I arrived in Namibia with a warm welcome from the Mighty Roar team. The transition was super easy with a lovely scenic ride to the wildlife sanctuary and from there I was given my accommodation which was lovely and clean.

"Throughout my time travelling as a solo female in Namibia, I felt very safe and enjoyed my time"

The staff were really friendly and helpful and it was really easy to make friends. There were endless opportunities to join projects and go and explore other places, which meant no two days were the same!

My transfer to and from the airport was easy and having everything included in a place you don't know made travelling solo as a female really enjoying and safe.

I was lucky enough to join a horse riding safari where we were able to see all sorts of wildlife up close and in a unique manner - and enjoy a glass on wine watching the sunset.

Each project was easy to join with a friendly reception and completely flexible to which place you enjoy staying at. My favourite part was my volunteer work at the children’s hospital called the Lifeline Clinic. We helped take measurements and blood pressure for patients and helped refer them to take the right care, all under the supervision of trained professionals.

Throughout my time in Namibia I made some great friends and we all decided to stay longer and extend to 4 weeks as we loved it that much! I cannot recommend volunteering in Namibia enough, if you are interested in animals or simply looking for a different place to travel and make friends then look no further than Namibia.
