Exploring Bali & assisting
with marine conservation

A group adventure across Bali

I was originally supposed to be doing the 3 week Bali tour but then decided that I would stay for an extra three weeks doing marine conservation - 6 weeks in total!

I am normally a homely girl that doesn’t like to be away for too long so for me to be travelling to Bali for six weeks alone was a big deal however I can honestly say, while I do live my family lots and I did miss them, I felt so welcomed and felt at home I wasn’t ready to leave even after six weeks.

"I could talk for day’s about my trip to Bali and honestly had the best time. I can’t wait to go back again and explore more."

The first three weeks was on the tour, travelling Bali for the first week then volunteering for the last two with the weekend trips as well. These three weeks were packed with adventure and the group I was with were the best - I am still in contact and talk on a daily basis with one of the group members and even travelled up to Scotland to see her (9 hours on a train).

The volunteer house is such a cute area which really takes you back to the basics and makes you appreciate everything. The food is amazing as well as all the people. You are given a true experience of local Bali life.

I was mainly doing marine conservation work with the local fishermen which was great fun and enabled me to learn some Indonesian while I taught them some English. As well as this I was also lucky enough to teach in the school as well where all the kids are so friendly and so eager to learn.

I could talk for day’s about my trip to Bali and honestly had the best time. I can’t wait to go back again and explore more.
