Helping Rebuild The
Coral Reef In
Bali

A life changing two weeks volunteering & travelling

I spent a life-changing 2 weeks at the marine conservation program in Bali. I was quite anxious for my first solo trip as a 17 year old travelling to the other side of the world. However, the TMR team in the UK answered all my questions and supported me throughout the process – I could not have done it without them!

"If you are looking to travel to Bali, I would highly recommend The Mighty Roar."

Once I arrived the local staff and community (admin, fishermen, drivers, chefs, cleaners, etc) were so welcoming and helped me feel at home right away. They were always on hand to help arrange transport, take part in evening activities and recommend things to do.

We spent the first part of each week, Monday through to Wednesday building artificial reef structures and then deploying these every Thursday. This involved scuba diving, snorkelling, boat trips and a lot of lifting.

Over the course of the long weekends (Friday to Sunday) we had free time where we was able to explore everything Bali has to offer. I spent time in Ubud, seeing the tea plantations, rice paddies and visiting monkey forest! On top of this I also spent time along the south coast in Canggu, which was really good fun.

Throughout the week there were lots of social activities available and I left Bali with lots of new friends and incredible memories.

If you are thinking about travelling to Bali or volunteering somewhere around the world, I would highly recommend The Mighty Roar and their projects.
