If you’ve already signed up for one of our volunteer programmes in Sri Lanka and would like to add this weekend trip, then you can simply request this within your My Trip account. Please note that places on our weekend trips are non-refundable and non-transferable.

We operate a number of amazing weekend trips every month that allow you to explore the country as a group with your new-found friends. The structured itinerary will allow you to make the most of your free time and we have maximised time to provide you with something different and exciting every day.

A member of our local team who knows the country inside out, will accompany you throughout the trip. Not only will you get to share all of their knowledge, but the trip will be even more enjoyable and safe.

Exploring Hill Country & safari weekend trip

The Hill Country offers you a scenic experience like no other, with a mist-wrapped land carpeted with striking colourful scenery, breathtaking mountains, lush green tea plantations and cascading waterfalls – a world away from the humid coastal lowlands.

One of the main highlights of this action-packed weekend trip is to head out on an early morning safari in the renowned Udawala National Park. Sri Lanka has been voted the best safari destination outside of Africa with elephants, monkeys, leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles and more roaming the parks.

As a group we will explore everything this incredible region has to offer, including:

  • Taking in the sights at the ancient fort in Galle
  • Enjoying the laid-back atmosphere and surf scene in Mirissa
  • Observing baby orphaned elephants at the ethical Elephant Transit Home

Located in the central region of Sri Lanka, the Cultural Triangle is the focal point for any visit to Sri Lanka. A treasure trove of ruins, rocks and wildlife, the weekend trip will encompass 3 UNESCO World Heritage Sites and allow you to learn all about Sri Lanka’s rich culture and history.

Jump onboard a 4x4 to search through the tropical forests, grasslands and wetlands for elephants, leopards and other animals. Sri Lanka has recently been voted the best country outside of Africa for safaris, so you’re guaranteed an amazing experience!

Not only this, but we will climb the spectacular rock citadel of Sigiriya (Lions Rock), perhaps Sri Lanka’s single most extraordinary sight and complete our trip by visiting the world-famous city of Kandy!

Maldives paradise islands long weekend trip

Everyone dreams of visiting the Maldives, but for most it is generally too expensive! Well, here is your chance to live the dream and to explore the beautiful Maldives for a long weekend! There is nowhere else in the world quite like it, with pristine white beaches, tranquil azure seas and amazing tropical coral reefs.

Based on the island of Maafushi, you will spend 4 days and 3 nights where you can truly experience the best islands in the world! There is no planned itinerary for the trip, just time to enjoy yourself in the sun in the Maldives! 

The Maldives are the perfect place to come and chill out and relax. Spend your days soaking up the sun on the pristine white beaches and having long dinners as the sunsets and time slowly goes by without a worry in the world! 

If relaxing is not your thing then there are plenty of activities our local co-ordinator can organise nearby! Some of the things you could get up to include:

  • A half day snorkelling trip where you can snorkel with sea turtles, swim with dolphins and have lunch on an uninhabited island
