You can simply add this weekend trip when applying for any programme in Sri Lanka under ‘Optional Extras’. We operate a number of amazing weekend trips every month that allow you to explore the country as a group with your new-found friends. The structured itinerary will allow you to make the most of your free time and we have maximised time to provide you with something different and exciting every day.
A member of our local team who knows the country inside out, will accompany you throughout the trip. Not only will you get to share all of their knowledge, but the trip will be even more enjoyable and safe.
Exploring Hill Country & safari weekend trip

The Hill Country offers you a scenic experience like no other, with a mist-wrapped land carpeted with striking colourful scenery, breath-taking mountains, lush green tea plantations and cascading waterfalls – a world away from the humid coastal lowlands.
One of the main highlights of this action-packed weekend trip, is to head out on an early morning safari in the renowned Udawala National Park. Sri Lanka has been voted the best safari destination outside of Africa, with elephants, monkeys, leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles and more roaming the parks.
As a group, we will explore everything this incredible region has to offer, including:
- Taking in the sights at the ancient fort in Galle
- Enjoying the laid-back atmosphere and surf scene in Mirissa
- Observing baby orphaned elephants at the ethical Elephant Transit Home
- Searching for elephants and other animals on safari in Udawala

Cultural triangle & safari weekend trip

Located in the central region of Sri Lanka, the Cultural Triangle is the focal point for any visit to Sri Lanka. A treasure trove of ruins, rocks and wildlife, the weekend trip will encompass 3 UNESCO World Heritage Sites and allow you to learn all about Sri Lanka’s rich culture and history.
Jump onboard a 4x4 to search through the tropical forests, grasslands and wetlands for elephants, leopards and other animals. Sri Lanka has recently been voted the best country outside of Africa for safaris, so you’re guaranteed an amazing experience!
Not only this, but we will climb the spectacular rock citadel of Sigiriya (Lions Rock), perhaps Sri Lanka’s single most extraordinary sight and complete our trip by visiting the world-famous city of Kandy!

Maldives paradise islands long weekend trip

Everyone dreams of visiting the Maldives, but for most it is generally too expensive! Well, here is your chance to live the dream and to explore the beautiful Maldives for a long weekend! There is nowhere else in the world quite like it, with pristine white beaches, tranquil azure seas and amazing tropical coral reefs.
Based on the island of Maafushi, you will spend 4 days and 3 nights where you can truly experience the best islands in the world! There is no planned itinerary for the trip, just time enjoy yourself in the sun in the Maldives!
The Maldives are the perfect place to come and chill out and relax. Spend your days soaking up the sun on the pristine white beaches and having long dinners as the sunsets and time slowly goes by without a worry in the world!
If relaxing is not your thing then there are plenty of activities our local co-ordinator can organise nearby! Some of things you could get up to include:
- A half day snorkelling trip where you can snorkel with sea turtles, swim with dolphins and have lunch on an uninhabited island
- Full day on a luxury resort island where you can relax in style at one of the many 5* resorts!
- An island hopping tour with Nemo point snorkelling
- Watching the giant whale sharks gently swim past
- Sunset night fishing with BBQ dinner
The Maldives are just an hour’s flight from Sri Lanka and you would be crazy to give up visiting these beautiful islands for a once in a lifetime experience.

Dubai stopover trip
Only £219pp - Includes return airport transfers, accommodation, guided desert safari and city tour
If you’re flying to the other side of the world, why not break your long journey up with a stopover in Dubai? Enjoy 4 days and 3 nights in this glamorous state, that will amaze you in every way. Be in awe of the sheer scale of this powerhouse city, as you wander the vast streets surrounded by hundreds of skyscrapers.
Head to the top of the world, as you climb up the Burj Khalifa – the tallest building in the world at 828 metres high (additional cost)! Get lost in Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping centre with over 1200 shops and restaurants and head outside to watch the fantastic water and light show at Dubai Fountain.
Alongside all of the glitz and glamour, Dubai also has historic neighbourhoods, colourful souqs (markets), museums, mosques, beaches and of course the desert!
As a part of the trip fee, you will get to hop on board a land cruiser and head into the deserts of Dubai! The evening will be spent dune bashing, admiring the sunset, watching traditional dances and enjoying a BBQ under the Arabian stars – something you will never forget!
You will also head off on a 4-hour city tour around all of the major attractions. See the contrast between ‘new’ and ‘old’ Dubai, where you will get to admire the beaches, hotels, viewpoints, museums, mosques and more!
The stopover trip is the perfect blend of structured guided tours and free independent travel. You’ll have plenty of time to explore Dubai at your own pace and with so much on offer there will be many things for you and your new friends to choose from. Spend the day topping up your tan at Jumeirah beach, shopping to your hearts content at Dubai Mall or trying out some of the man adrenaline activities on offer.
