As with everything in life though it pays to be organised. So if you plan on seeing India on one of our amazing weekend trips and would like to be guaranteed a place please book well in advance of travel.

You can simply add this weekend trip when applying for any programme in India under ‘Optional Extras’. If you’ve already signed up for one of our volunteer programmes in India and would like to add this weekend trip, then you can simply request this within your My Trip account. Please note that places on our weekend trips are non-refundable and non-transferable.

We operate a number of amazing weekend trips every month that allow you to explore the country as a group with your new-found friends. The structured itinerary will allow you to make the most of your free time and we have maximised time to provide you with something different and exciting every day.

A member of our local team who knows the country inside out, will accompany you throughout the trip. Not only will you get to share all of their knowledge, but the trip will be even more enjoyable and safe.

Golden Triangle weekend trip

The Golden Triangle is a classic introduction to India and comprises of the three most visited cities in the country's north-west - Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Walk the crowded streets of the sprawling and fascinating Indian capital, Delhi, and tour around all of the main attractions . You'll also get the chance to explore Agra, once the heart of the Mughal empire that boasts the unparalleled beauty of the Taj Mahal.

The highlight of any trip to India has to be seeing the magnificent Taj Mahal. Arguably the most beautiful building in the world, the Taj Mahal is a symbol of India that is a must see on any trip to the country. Everyone will be up bright and early to make our way to the Taj Mahal for sunrise and an English-speaking guide will teach you all about the story that inspired the building of the Taj Mahal and the sad tragedy involved in creating it.

As a group we will explore everything this incredible region has to offer, including:

Ranthambore tiger safari weekend trip

Escape the city and embark on an exhilarating weekend tiger safari trip, exploring India’s wildlife in search of Bengal tigers. Experience the real-life Jungle Book in one of the only places in the world where you can see Bengal tigers roam their natural habitat. Along with your fellow volunteers you will head out on a fully structured 2-day safari in the famous Ranthambore National park – one of the best places to spot wild tigers in India. 

The national park is a real must – see destination, not only because of the significant amount of Bengal tigers that call it home but also due to it’s unique blend of nature and history. The park’s varied landscape which includes rivers, forests and open grasslands is home to a diverse array of wildlife including leopards, sloth bears, over 300 species of birds and hyenas – keep an eye out for marsh crocodiles in the lakes! Some highlights include:

  • Seeing wild bengal tigers in their natural habitat
  • Exploring diverse and beautiful landscapes by jeep
  • Coming across ancient ruins, including Ranthambore Fort
  • Keeping an eye out in the trees for leopards
