Nepal medical volunteers

Gain invaluable experience assisting in a hospital in Nepal, where you will be able to work with and observe some great local medical professionals. This will allow you to gain greater appreciation and understanding of some of the challenges that Kathmandu faces.

Our medical volunteers are placed in a range of hospitals and clinics located in the Himalayan Kingdom in Nepal, offering both private and government healthcare.

This unique experience is the perfect project if you are embarking on a career in medicine and will offer you a wide range of out-patient healthcare activities – suitable for both medical students and medical practitioners. Not only this but it will help to boost your C.V. or further education application and clearly distinguish you amongst your peers, giving you an edge for your future career in medicine.

Under the guidance of professional doctors and nurses, you can make a huge difference helping out in the hospitals offering an additional pair of hands as a medical assistant. You may also get the chance to work in more rural health clinics to help establish more sustainable standards of health and hygiene.

Tasks will be assigned strictly on the basis of experience, but typical tasks will include performing minor procedures, physical examinations, clerical duties, patient observations and routine check-ups.

You will spend your days in the hospital or clinic caring for those in the local community. You will be typically volunteering around 4-6 hours per day from around 9:00am Monday to Friday. 

With scenery not often witnessed in many parts of the world, Nepal is simply spectacular. With Himalayan mountains as a back drop to a mix of spiritual temples integrated with more modern and vibrant cities.
